About me

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Purdue University. Currently I am a M.F.A. student in Creative Writing at Hofstra University. I am working on my thesis, which will include a collection of my fiction writing, and I will graduate in May 2014. Although I primarily focused in psychology at Purdue, English Literature has always been a part of my life. During the course of my undergraduate studies, I joined FEMI Magazine and still work as its Senior Editor. The magazine focuses on providing articles that strengthen and empower family bonds that undergo the stresses of everyday life. My goals at Hofstra are simple: to be a better writer and reader of great literature. I want the classes I teach to achieve the same. I want the students to be able to use the English language to effectively express and convey their ideas. By reading the literature of notable authors, students will engage in critical discussion as a community of readers and writers. The School Nova Herald will be a venue for their development. In the past, the Newspaper has been a medium in which the students share their personal interests, report topics that interest them, and showcase the accomplishments of the school. I intend to maintain that tradition and continue to challenge students to seek stories in their environment.
