Patricia Cesario

About me

My name is Patricia Cesario. I am a French and Spanish teacher. I have a New York State teacher’s license. I graduated from Fordham University with a Master’s in Spanish. I have also studied at La Sorbonne, France (2001), Carel language institute in Royan, France (1999), L’universite de Ontario, Canada (2012), La Universidad de Burgos, Spain (2004), and Mester Language School, Salamanca, Spain (2014). This past summer I spent 2 weeks in a training program for teachers which emphasized technology and culture in the classroom.

I started my teaching career as a Spanish high school teacher and continued studying French for my New York state certification. I also taught French and Spanish in an after school program in Cold Spring Harbor - Lloyd Harbor elementary school for 15 years. Presently I am teaching French and Spanish as an adjunct at Suffolk County Community College. I have been there for 10 years.

I love teaching foreign language, especially to children. They are so excited and enthusiastic as first time learners. I really enjoy their enthusiasm and look forward to introducing them to many new cultural experiences through songs, games and other activities.

Since technology has made us a global community, learning another language will be useful when meeting people from other countries and cultures. The earlier one begins a second language the easier it is to adjust to changes and differences in one’s life.

I am looking forward to sharing my enthusiasm for language with the children at School Nova as well as meeting their families. Together we can make the experience wonderful and exciting.
